Hamnet

Movie 2025 125 min Drama, Romance Last reviewed 1 Sep 2026

Our take

Hamnet is a PG-13 Focus Features drama about Shakespeare's family after their son dies. The child's illness and death are emotionally devastating. A brief sex scene shows partial nudity. A stillbirth scare and slap violence appear. Almost no profanity. Best for teens ready for heavy grief, not for sensitive younger kids

Uplifting themes

Story (may spoil tone)

The powerful story of love and loss that inspired the creation of Shakespeare's timeless masterpiece, Hamlet.
