Our take
Boulevard is rated R for language, some sexuality, and teen drinking. The Spanish drama follows new girl Hasley falling for Luke, a boy grieving his brother and using drugs. Teens drink, smoke, and get high; there is one sex scene without visible private parts, fistfights, an overdose, and Luke dying after being hit by a bus. Amazon Prime Video's content advisory also flags portrayals of suicide and self-harm plus strobing lights. The ending is emotionally heavy and best for mature older teens with room to talk afterward
Uplifting themes
Hasley learns not to judge by appearances, and the film invites talk about how grief shows up differently in people Supportive friends welcome Hasley, but Luke's choices are mostly cautionary
Story (may spoil tone)
Hasley, a girl with a list of unfulfilled dreams, and Luke, a complex and vulnerable boy marked by a tragic past, find refuge on the boulevard where they discover if love can conquer all.

Talk after watching
- Luke blames himself for his brother's death after a fight in the car. How do grief and guilt change the way someone treats people they love?
- Hasley keeps choosing Luke even when friends and family warn her away. When does loyalty help someone, and when does it enable harm?
