Our take

Maintenance Required is a PG-13 romantic comedy about an independent mechanic-shop owner unknowingly texting her corporate rival. Expect flirting, kiss talk, a sex-partners reference, beer and vodka at a bar, and scattered s-word and one f-word in dialogue. Themes include female entrepreneurship and standing up to corporate pressure. Fine for most teens; preview if your family avoids romantic innuendo

Independence, honesty, and supporting women in trades shine through Charlie and her crew fight to keep their shop and their values

Story (may spoil tone)

Charlie, the fiercely independent owner of an all-female mechanic shop, is forced to reevaluate her future when a flashy corporate competitor moves in across the street. Seeking comfort, she turns to an anonymous online confidant - unaware she's confiding in Beau, the very rival threatening her business. As sparks fly both online and off, the truth threatens to blow everything apart.
