Bāhubali: The Epic

Our take

Bāhubali: The Epic is a remastered single-film version of the two-part Baahubali saga about a warrior reclaiming a stolen throne. Expect large-scale battle scenes with swords, spears, beheadings, and bloody injuries, plus palace intrigue and a chaste love story. Netflix rates it TV-14 to 16+ depending on region. The nearly four-hour runtime and mythic combat suit teens who handle action epics, not young children

Uplifting themes

Courage, loyalty, and standing against injustice anchor the epic Heroes model sacrifice and protection of their people amid corruption

Story (may spoil tone)

When a mysterious child is found by a tribal couple near a roaring waterfall, they raise him as their own. As he grows, Sivudu is drawn to the world beyond the cliffs, where he discovers the ancient kingdom of Mahishmati, ruled by a cruel tyrant, haunted by rebellion, and bound to his past. What begins as a quest for love soon unravels a legacy of betrayal, sacrifice, and a forgotten prince.
