Deadpool

Movie 2016 108 min Action, Adventure, Comedy Last reviewed 7 Sep 2026
Official Rating MA 15+ ClearAge 16+ Quality ★★★★☆

Our take

Deadpool is a loud adult superhero comedy, not a kids Marvel film. Expect a long sex stretch with female nudity, constant strong language, and very bloody killing played for laughs. Cancer, torture, and revenge sit under the jokes. Skipping the sex bits does not make the rest safe. Older teens and adults

Uplifting themes

Love and loyalty sit under the filth. Thin, still real He is loyal and funny. He is also cruel, sexual, and murderous

Story (may spoil tone)

The origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who, after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Talk after watching

  • The jokes sit on top of graphic killing. Did that make it easier or harder to watch?
  • Wade's scarred body is treated as both a punchline and a wound. How did that land at home?
