Our take

Gandhari is a grim crime film. A mother goes blind, then her little girl is taken. The hunt includes talk of a child sex-trafficking ring and a threat about a child's dead body. Swearing is light. Best for older teens who already handle grim crime. Too heavy for younger teens

Uplifting themes

A parent will not give up on her daughter The mother keeps going after she loses her sight. The methods are desperate, not neat

Story (may spoil tone)

When a mother loses her eyesight and her daughter in a kidnapping, she takes matters into her own hands to hunt down those responsible.

Talk after watching

  • How do you talk about a missing child without turning it into a true-crime game?
  • What should a parent do when the system feels too slow?
