Our take
This is a grim comic-book crime film, not the campy TV Batman. Gotham is gloomy. There are guns, poison products, and a villain whose face is badly scarred. A child sees his parents killed. There is a discreet bedroom scene and some hell, damn, and crap. Fine for most teens 13 and up with a parent. Too heavy for younger kids who still want a bright superhero film

Story (may spoil tone)
Having witnessed his parents' brutal murder as a child, millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne fights crime in Gotham City disguised as Batman, a costumed hero who strikes fear into the hearts of villains.
