Our take

This is the follow-up, still grim animated Batman. An old enemy returns, a nuclear blast blacks out the city, and Batman is ordered stopped by a much stronger hero. A young teen is still in the fight as Robin. Fine with a parent from 15. Watch the first part first if you can

Uplifting themes

Ordinary people are asked to work together when the lights go out The young partner keeps helping even when the fight is huge

Story (may spoil tone)

Batman has stopped the reign of terror that The Mutants had cast upon his city. Now an old foe wants a reunion and the government wants The Man of Steel to put a stop to Batman.

Talk after watching

  • When the lights go out, who should people listen to?
  • Is it fair to send a stronger hero to stop a weaker one?
