The Pout-Pout Fish expands Deborah Diesen's picture book into a 92-minute underwater adventure. Rated PG for mild action and rude humor, it follows gloomy Mr. Fish and peppy Pip learning teamwork. Classifiers warn the movie skews older than the book: homes destroyed, predator chases, neurotoxin stings, and cuttlefish forced from their reef. Best for elementary viewers 6+, not toddlers expecting gentle rhymes only

Story (may spoil tone)
Living on a rundown shipwreck, Mr. Fish one day discovers a hyperactive young sea dragon Pip – who had mistaken his home for a junkyard – pilfering his belongings. The heated argument that ensues leaves both their houses in ruin. But there is hope! Embarking on a seemingly impossible quest in search of the mythical 'Shimmer' to grant them a wish, there’s only one problem: someone else is on the hunt...
