Why our age differs

Official is US PG-13. We say 15+ because a sibling's suicide and a parent's violent death are central, and the love scene and strong language add to the weight

Our take

Two young people fall in love while both are carrying family grief. Remember Me also brings in a sister's bullying, a past violent death and talk of a sibling's suicide, so its sadness runs deeper than the romance suggests. A fight, strong language and a discreet love scene add to the adult feel. We would wait until US PG-13.

Uplifting themes

The film values forgiveness, honest conversation, and making time for the people you love. It also shows how pain can be carried in silence Tyler loves his little sister and tries to repair his family, even when he makes bad choices. Ally is warm and supportive

Story (may spoil tone)

Still reeling from a heartbreaking family event and his parents' subsequent divorce, Tyler Hawkins discovers a fresh lease on life when he meets Ally Craig, a gregarious beauty who witnessed her mother's death. But as the couple draws closer, the fallout from their separate tragedies jeopardizes their love.
