A pregnancy forces Robert and his girlfriend to talk about whether they want the same future. With or Without You is built around adult relationships, loyalty and arguments about responsibility. Uplifting themes

The story still asks whether grown men can take responsibility when a partner chooses family life. It does not hand Robert an easy redemption, which keeps the theme adult Robert is a mixed bag who stalls when life gets serious. Supportive friends and the pregnant partner show more maturity than he does at first

Robert Hightower thinks he's got the perfect life until his girlfriend discovers that she's pregnant and decides she wants to get married and "nest." In a quandary, Robert begins to buckle under the pressure as his homeboys line up to watch his back, while girlfriends of Robert's better half rush some much-needed moral support in her direction.
