Why our age differs

Official is US R. We say 15+ because the violence stays comic and ghostly, while the steady strong language is the main reason to wait on younger teens

Our take

A new ghost tries to learn how to frighten the living before she disappears for good. Dead Talents Society has playful competition alongside jump scares, horror imagery and rough language. We would start at US R.

Uplifting themes

Found family among misfit ghosts and earning respect through craft matter. Competition also brings petty betrayal The shy new ghost and her weary mentor grow into a team. Plenty of rivals cheat along the way

Story (may spoil tone)

When ghosts must compete to survive in the underworld by haunting the living, one unassuming young woman needs help creating a lasting performance while under the tutelage of a passionate agent and a washed-up diva.

Talk after watching

  • The underworld treats scaring like show business. Does making ghosts funny make them less scary for you?
  • The rookie ghost wants a purpose beyond pranks. What kind of legacy would you want to leave behind?
