Why our age differs

Official is US PG-13. We say 12+ because violence is limited and the heavier lift is political talk, not graphic content

Our take

Atlas Shrugged: Part II continues Ayn Rand's story of railroad and steel leaders pushing back as the government tightens its grip. The tone is talky and earnest, with boardrooms, speeches, and a few disaster beats. Mild swearing and brief explosive danger appear. We land at US PG-13 and up because the ideology and occasional peril ask for older kids who can follow dense dialogue

Uplifting themes

Responsibility, invention, and standing by your work are praised. The film sells a clear philosophy that families may want to debate rather than swallow whole Dagny and Rearden keep showing up for their industries when others quit. Allies can be rigid, and opponents are painted broadly It can spark talk about markets, regulation, and who keeps infrastructure running. Treat it as one loud viewpoint, not a civics textbook

Story (may spoil tone)

Railroad owner Dagny Taggart and steel mogul Henry Rearden search desperately for the inventor of a revolutionary motor as the U.S. government continues to spread its control over the national economy.
