View all categoriesOur take
This documentary follows a Seattle bank robber and the officers who hunted him. It covers armed hold-ups, meth production, a deadly police confrontation and the robber's suicide. Interviews contain strong language, and home movies include full male nudity. The film can make the robber's daring seem exciting, but the harm is real. We would save it for an older teen ready to talk about both sides of that story.
Uplifting themes
The aftermath undercuts the cool-outlaw myth more than any lecture does. Accountability arrives, but only after charm and media myth have done damage Investigators show persistence under stress while piecing the robberies together. The central figure models charm without responsibility for the harm
Story (may spoil tone)
In this true-crime documentary, a charismatic rebel in 1990s Seattle pulls off an unprecedented string of bank robberies straight out of the movies.
