Why our age differs

Official is US NR. We say 18+ because sustained gang violence and outlaw brutality sit at the top of the mature band

Our take

A violent outlaw takes a quiet job guarding a child while cocaine growers, guns, and revenge plots swirl around them. The fights include bloody stabbings, decapitations and violence against children. A teenage girl also faces a brief sexual threat. Mild English-sub hells sit under heavier on-screen brutality, and a suicide is mentioned in passing. A child in sustained peril and the bloody drug-crime story make this a hard action watch

Uplifting themes

Protecting the vulnerable and facing powerful crooks are framed as honour. The film still glamorizes violent payback along the way The outlaw shows loyalty and care toward the child in his charge. His methods stay brutal, so parents may want to unpack that mix

Story (may spoil tone)

A violent outlaw takes a job as a personal driver in order to protect the life of a little girl.

Talk after watching

  • The hero uses violence to protect someone smaller than him. Can protecting a child ever justify becoming as ruthless as the villains?
  • A little girl trusts a man with a scary past. What would you need to know before trusting someone with that history?
