Why our age differs

Official is US PG. We say 10+ because the romantic longing and adult party drinking sit through a long love-triangle musical, beyond a light kids' hangout

Our take

Dil To Pagal Hai is a long, colourful Hindi musical about a dance troupe, best-friend feelings, and who ends up with whom. Expect song-and-dance numbers, romantic longing, and a few kisses rather than anything steamy. Mild words like hell show up when tempers flare, and adults share tequila or beer in social scenes. We land at 10 and up because the love-triangle heartache runs long, and social drinking shows up in the adult party beats

Uplifting themes

Friendship, chosen love, and loyalty to the troupe keep returning through the songs. The film favours big hearts over cynicism Friends support each other on stage even when romance gets messy. Adults are glamorous and flawed rather than perfect guides

Story (may spoil tone)

Rahul, the director of a successful dance troupe, considers Nisha his best friend, though secretly, she is madly in love with him. He then falls for Pooja, who is engaged to Ajay.

Tequila toasts and chilled beer appear at celebrations with the dance troupe. Drinking is social sparkle for adults, not a crisis or a teen bender
