Our take

A Netflix documentary about a Mexican woman who faked a pregnancy after miscarriages and kidnapped a newborn from the hospital where she worked. The first hour uses dramatizations; later sections interview the real people involved. Distressing themes include infertility shame, crime and imprisonment. Best for about 14 and up.

Uplifting themes

The film invites reflection on the invisible pressures to become a parent Victim and legal voices offer perspective, though the subject's choices caused deep harm

Story (may spoil tone)

Desperate for a baby and burdened by family and societal expectations, a woman fakes a pregnancy and gets tangled in a crime.
