Our take

Troll 2 is a Norwegian Netflix monster sequel rated M. A giant troll devastates the countryside while Nora, Andreas and Major Kris race to stop it. Large-scale destruction, stabbing sound effects, a bomb-in-mouth climax and scary creature set pieces are part of the ride. Mild swearing and light flirting also appear. Best for tweens and teens who already handled the first film.

Uplifting themes

Talk after watching

  • The troll may be a monster, but the film asks whether humans created the problem. How do our actions affect nature?
  • Nora and her team choose risky plans to protect cities. When is bravery necessary versus reckless?
