Our take

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is a PG drama wrapping the Crawley saga as Mary faces scandal and the estate prepares for a new generation. Expect gossip about affairs, social drinking, a smoking-room reference, mild hell language and funeral grief rather than graphic violence. Pistols and suicide appear only in historical backstory talk. Best for tweens and teens already invested in the series. Adult fans will feel at home too.

Uplifting themes
