Our take

Claire, the family glue, gets forgotten on a holiday outing, walks out, and finds her own adventure in this US PG-13 Christmas comedy. Married-couple sex references, wine and drunk memories, a cigarette gag, mild hell and s-word lines, plus one strong f-word in a comedy-club set, all land along the way. A demonic voice joke and a ghost quip keep the scare bits playful. Warm reconciliation works for tweens and teens if US PG-13 language is okay at home. ClearAge puts it around 13.

Uplifting themes

Self-worth, gratitude toward family, and choosing joy hold up the holiday arc. Those themes carry the ending Claire shows what speaking up looks like, and the family finally notices who holds them together. That shift is the growth parents will spot

Story (may spoil tone)

Claire Clauster is the glue that holds her chaotic, lovable family together at the holidays. But this year, after planning a special outing for them, they make a crucial mistake and leave her home alone. Fed up and feeling under appreciated, she sets off on an impromptu adventure of her own. As her family scrambles to find her, Claire discovers the unexpected magic of a Christmas gone off-script.
