Our take
Officer Black Belt follows a martial artist who cannot ignore a fight, teamed with a probation officer. You get lots of punching, some knife threats, regular f-word language, drinking and smoking, and on-screen case files for sex offences, including against children. The sex crimes are files and monitoring, not assault scenes. Fine for 14+ who already watch punchy action comedies. Talk through the offender-list content
Uplifting themes
Showing up for people in trouble, even when it is inconvenient
Story (may spoil tone)
A talented martial artist who can't walk past a person in need unites with a probation officer to fight and prevent crime as a martial arts officer.
