View all categoriesOur take
This animated DC film is darker than regular Justice League fare, built around demons, possession, and people pushed into nightmare crimes. Battles use swords, fire, magic, and some blood, with civilians in real peril across cities. Swearing includes the s-word, b-word, hell, and the a-word in Constantine's world-weary banter. A casino stop and rough adult humour sit next to the occult scares. We put this at M, with a parent, because the demonic violence and dread stay strong for the whole runtime.
Uplifting themes
Flawed magic users still choose to stand between demons and ordinary people. Teamwork wins when egos finally quiet down. The uplift is quieter than the scares, but it is there Batman pushes for help beyond his comfort zone, and the dark heroes risk themselves for strangers they barely know. Constantine remains morally messy while still showing up. Role models here are imperfect adults learning to cooperate
Story (may spoil tone)
When innocent civilians begin committing unthinkable crimes across Metropolis, Gotham City and beyond, Batman must call upon mystical counterparts to eradicate this demonic threat to the planet; enter Justice League Dark. This team of Dark Arts specialists must unravel the mystery of Earth's supernatural plague and contend with the rising, powerful villainous forces behind the siege—before it's too late for all of mankind.

Magical brawls run almost nonstop: swords, fire, spells, and heroes trading brutal hits with demons. Possessed civilians attack strangers and each other. People die in the chaos, and the fighting feels meaner than usual League cartoons

The s-word, b-word, hell, damn, and the a-word show up through Constantine's snarky talk. It is regular without becoming wall-to-wall. The tone is adult and cynical more than playground mild

Adult characters move through bars and rough hangouts where drinking is part of the atmosphere. Nothing turns into a binge or addiction plot. It is background flavour for Constantine's world

Demons, possession, nightmare visions, and occult creatures keep the dread high from early on. Ordinary people lose control of their bodies in ways that feel invasive. Younger teens who dislike horror will find this a hard sit

Swords, claws, and magical weapons leave visible wounds and some blood on screen. Corpses and talk of murder sit in the investigation. It is stronger than bloodless cartoon fights without turning fully graphic

An early casino stop frames a search for a magical relic at the tables. Cards and gambling chatter appear briefly. The film does not make gambling look glamorous or teach how to play

Talk after watching
- Constantine's team is flawed and often selfish. What still makes them choose to protect strangers?
- Magic here has a real cost. How do the heroes weigh that against the lives they want to save?
