Our take

Jungle begins as a backpacking adventure and becomes a harrowing survival story in the Bolivian wilderness. Hunger, injuries, hallucinations, and a few difficult body-horror moments show how badly the trip goes wrong. Strong language is frequent, and the danger can be genuinely frightening. Older teens who can handle an intense survival ordeal are the best fit.

Uplifting themes

The film is really about resilience, hope and the will to keep going when everything is stripped away. There is a strong thread about holding onto reasons to live The lead is brave and determined but also makes risky, stubborn choices that cost the group. It is an honest mix instead of a clean hero Based on a real survival story, it gives a vivid sense of the Amazon and the stakes of wilderness travel. It can spark good talk about preparation and risk

Talk after watching

  • The trip goes wrong partly through bad calls and trust in the wrong guide. How do you weigh risk on an adventure?
  • Survival pushes the main character to his limits. What kept him going, and what would you hold onto?
