The Nun follows investigators into an abbey haunted by a demonic figure. A hanging opens the film, and jump scares, blood, possession, and talk of suicide keep its mood dark. Language is mild compared with the fear. We put it at MA 15+ and up for viewers who already handle sustained supernatural horror.
Uplifting themes
Courage, faith, and looking out for someone else still matter when the abbey feels hopeless. The heroes keep choosing to face the evil together. It is thin uplift inside a scare machine The novice and the priest keep going when running would be easier, and they try to protect others. They are scared, which feels honest. Bravery here looks like stubborn care A little talk about vows, relics, and how the Conjuring stories connect may spark curiosity. It is still entertainment first. Do not treat the demon lore as history
Story (may spoil tone)
A priest with a dark past and a novice nearing her final vows are sent by the Vatican to Romania to investigate a nun's death and face a demonic force.

Blood marks injuries from the demonic assaults, and a corpse sets the tone early. Wounds are clear without turning into a gore showcase. A shotgun stays in the mix when things escalate

Nuns and townsfolk mourn a sudden death that starts the mission. The sadness is real but brief. Most of the film pushes past grief into fear
