Ghost Town follows a dentist who starts seeing ghosts after a medical procedure. The story is a romantic comedy, but its spirits bring repeated talk of death, affairs, and murder. The guide also flags f-words, sexual jokes, and a passing suicide reference. We put it at around M and up for the ghostly themes and adult banter.
Uplifting themes
Listening, honesty, and opening your life to others win by the finale. Early cruelty is part of the joke Gwen shows compassion in her research work. Bertram improves, but he begins as a poster child for snark You might mention how hospitals handle anesthesia risks, but this is rom-com comfort food
Story (may spoil tone)
Bertram Pincus, a cranky, people-hating Manhattan dentist, develops the unwelcome ability to see dead people. Really annoying dead people. Even worse, they all want something from him, particularly Frank Herlihy, a smooth-talking ghost, who pesters him into a romantic scheme involving his widow Gwen. They are soon entangled in a hilarious predicament between the now and the hereafter!

- How does Bertram change once he has to listen to other people?
- When comedy uses ghosts, how do you talk about real death with kids?
