Why our age differs

Official is MA 15+. We say 14+ because body-horror curses and a sexual assault reference in dialogue exceed lighter shonen fare

Our take

Yuta is haunted by the spirit of a friend while learning to fight dangerous curses. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has grotesque creatures, bloody animated fights and talk of mass killing. We would start at 14.

Uplifting themes

Friendship, accepting help, and choosing life over hatred win out. Some villains reject humanity entirely Gojo and classmates mentor Yuta with humor and care. Antagonists show how bitterness curdles into genocide talk

Story (may spoil tone)

Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a curse and won't leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the curse that haunts him?

Talk after watching

  • Yuta loves Rika even after she becomes a curse. How do the students draw lines between helping someone and letting go?
  • Bullying pushed Yuta toward violence in the past. What should schools do when classmates target someone who seems different?
