Our take
James Gunn's DC reboot follows Clark Kent reconciling Kryptonian heritage with human values. Rated M for violence, action and language. Large-scale superhero fights, a close-range shooting, torture scenes and frequent s-word and b-word run through it. It still centers empathy and responsibility, but the intensity exceeds classic kid-friendly Superman.
Uplifting themes
Truth, justice, empathy and moral responsibility anchor the story Clark and allies model courage, teamwork and standing up for others
