Our take
Reformed animal criminals get pulled into a global heist against a new rival crew. Rated PG for action, mild violence, rude humor and language. Chase scenes, prison gags and flirty banter stay cartoon-level. Fine for school-age kids who liked the first film.
Uplifting themes
Integrity, teamwork and choosing good over easy crime recur Reformed heroes keep trying to do better together
Story (may spoil tone)
The now-reformed Bad Guys are trying (very, very hard) to be good, but instead find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist, masterminded by a new team of criminals they never saw coming: The Bad Girls.
