This family whodunit is rated PG for thematic material, some violent content and brief language. The shepherd's murder, a sheep friend's death and fights with snarling dogs can unsettle kids under eight. Language stays mild, with crap and damn, and romance is limited to flirting. Whiskey and wine appear in adult scenes. Best for ages eight and up who enjoy mysteries and can handle honest talk about loss.
Uplifting themes

Talk after watching
- Lily solves the case by weighing clues instead of guessing. What evidence convinced you before the big reveal?
- George's death and another sheep's loss sit at the heart of the story. How does remembering someone help even when they are gone?
