Our take

A Spanish zombie thriller about a man and his cat surviving a rabies-like outbreak. Dialogue includes bite-transmission talk, monster labels, f-word panic and a kiss message. Siege tension and infected attacks sit in familiar genre territory. The peril stays outbreak-and-isolation focused rather than extreme torture horror. Best for older teens who can handle zombie violence.

Uplifting themes

Loyalty to a pet and to neighbors surfaces briefly. The positive thread is light against the outbreak backdrop

Story (may spoil tone)

When a kind of rabies that transforms people into aggressive creatures spreads across the planet, Manel isolates himself at home with his cat, relying on his wits to survive; but soon they must go out in search of food, by land and by sea, dodging many dangers.

  • Manel isolates with his cat when society collapses. What would your family prioritize in a crisis?
  • Zombie films often start small then spread. How does fear change neighbor trust?
