The Wrong Girls is a US R stoner comedy about two best friends who stumble into a drug conspiracy and gain telepathic powers. Heavy marijuana use, frequent profanity, graphic nudity and some gun-related peril played for laughs drive the tone. Friendship stays warm even as the leads make reckless drug choices. Best for mature teens and adults comfortable with raunchy humour.
Uplifting themes
The warm friendship between the leads is a clear strength. The film can feel surprisingly sweet despite the stupid humour, with loyalty and connection coming through The leads are likable but heavy stoners who make reckless choices. They stay loyal to each other, yet they are not strong behavioural role models for younger viewers
Story (may spoil tone)
Two codependent best friends living paycheck to paycheck and bong rip to bong rip get caught in a case of mistaken identity that throws their lives into chaos.
