Our take

Bhooth Bangla is a Hindi supernatural comedy about a man who inherits a palace and plans his sister's wedding despite local ghost legends. Ghosts, demons and bride-abduction folklore drive a lot of the humor and the scares. Mild swearing, background gambling, cigarette smoking and references to past deaths crop up across the 163-minute runtime. Teens who like spooky comedy should be fine; younger kids may find the demon backstory and haunted-house tension a bit much.

Talk after watching

  • Villagers fear a ghost will ruin the wedding. How do communities use folklore to explain the unknown?
  • The hero mixes skepticism with curiosity. When is it brave to investigate versus reckless?
