Our take

A young woman learns she is intersex and redefines her identity and relationships in this MA 15+ Spanish drama. Emotional family conflict and traditional prejudice sit beside frequent strong language and on-screen joints, cocaine, and heavy drinking in Madrid nightlife. Intimate scenes include underwear sex and bare breasts, and learning that her parents altered her anatomy as a baby without consent is a major shock. Romance and self-acceptance themes suit mature teens and adults. ClearAge puts it around 16.

Uplifting themes

Living authentically and accepting yourself anchor the journey. Once identity truth is clear, the story keeps returning to the courage that life asks for Courage to define herself on her own terms is what the lead finds. Parents can point to that honesty about who she is as the main role-model beat afterward

Story (may spoil tone)

A young woman from a traditional family learns she's intersex, sparking a journey of self-discovery, gender identity and love found in unexpected places.

Talk after watching

  • The lead must reconcile who she is with what her family expects. How do people find support when identity feels complicated?
  • Traditional values clash with personal truth. What helps families listen instead of judge?
