Our take

Sheriff Jake ends up guarding a mysterious prisoner while cartel gunmen close in on his border-town jail. Shootouts keep returning, blood shows after the fights, and siege pressure hangs over the family. Strong language is frequent, with plenty of f-words, and the plot leans hard on drug-trafficking talk. No sex scene worth flagging. Older teens and adults who already watch hard crime action are the fit.

Uplifting themes

Jake's push to protect a prisoner and a frightened town gives the film its moral spine under cartel pressure. Family loyalty and small-town duty get tested right beside the gunfire Walking away would be easier, yet Jake and the people closest to him keep standing their ground for the town. Flawed pulp-thriller heroes, yes. Courage and care still show up when it counts

Story (may spoil tone)

When a mysterious prisoner lands in jail, a border town sheriff faces the wrath of a brutal cartel.

Shootouts and kill orders keep looping around a border-town jail under cartel threat. Jake and his family dig in while outsiders talk scorched-earth murder. The combat runs through the thriller instead of ending after one scrap

Lawmen and cartel scenes both run hot with the f-word many times, plus the s-word, a-word, and hell. Strong swearing is baked into those arguments. A rare slip would understate the load

Trafficking talk sits at the center, including imported drugs that killed civilians. Someone is also called drunk as a skunk the night before. Hard-drug use is not walked through on camera

Kill threats aimed at the sheriff and prisoner keep siege tension on a small jail. Quieter stretches between louder action beats can still weigh on younger teens

After the violence, blood shows, and characters talk about people being murdered in bulk. Guns stay in play through the standoff. Injury and death read clearly, without medical body-horror lingering
