Our take
This is a kids LEGO special, not the dark Batman films. Brick characters bicker, then team up when a villain goes after the Bat-family. Fights stay toy-like. There is a cartoon explosion. Fine for most kids 8 and up who already like LEGO superheroes. Very young kids who scare easily may find the villain bits loud
Uplifting themes
Family and teamwork beat going it alone. Doing the right thing gets praised Batgirl, Robin, and the others keep showing up for each other when Batman shuts them out
Story (may spoil tone)
Suspicion is on high after Batman, Batgirl, Robin and other DC superheroes receive mysterious invitations. However, family values must remain strong when Batman and his team encounter the villainous Red Hood, who is obsessed with destroying the Bat-family and all of Gotham City.
