Our take

A Resident Evil origin horror where a dying town turns into a night of zombies, mutants and Umbrella secrets. Frequent bloody attacks, body-horror transformations, gory wounds, jump scares and lots of strong swearing fill the night, along with animal-zombie violence and creature kills. Fine with a parent from 16 for horror fans. Younger teens who dislike realistic-feeling body gore should skip it.

Story (may spoil tone)

Once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, the townspeople are forever…changed…and a small group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
