Our take

Friends remaking the 1997 creature feature face real giant snakes in this comedic reboot. Rated M for violence/action, strong language, some drug use and suggestive references. Explosions and occasional deaths play for laughs and jumps. Fine for teens who know the campy tone; too intense for snake-phobic or very young kids.

Uplifting themes

Story (may spoil tone)

A group of friends facing mid-life crises head to the rainforest with the intention of remaking their favorite movie from their youth, only to find themselves in a fight for their lives against natural disasters, giant snakes and violent criminals.
