Our take

Ocean's Twelve follows a crew of thieves through stylish jobs in European cities. The action is light, with a few gun threats, while swearing includes one f-word and milder language. Drinking appears in clubs and celebrations. We put it at around 13 and up for teens comfortable with the film's adult crime setting.

Uplifting themes

Loyalty inside the crew and clever problem-solving give the con a warm pulse. Friendship matters when the pressure rises. The film still celebrates outlaw cool more than honest living Teammates cover for each other and keep cooler heads under stress. They are still career thieves. Role-model value is thin beyond teamwork under pressure European cities and art-world security gadgets give light travel colour. Nothing here is a real lesson in crime prevention. Curious teens may ask how movies dress up heists

Story (may spoil tone)

Despite pulling off one of the biggest heists in Las Vegas history and splitting the $160 million take, each of the infamous Ocean's crew have tried to go straight, lay low and live a legit life... but that's proven to be a challenge. Casino owner Terry Benedict demands that Danny Ocean return the money, plus millions more in interest. Unable to come up the cash, the crew is forced to come together to pull off another series of heists, this time in Rome, Paris, and Amsterdam – but a Europol agent is hot on their heels.

Heist pressure brings talk of killing, a gun pointed in a tense beat, and criminal threats from people owed money. Actual bloodshed stays scarce. Danger is more swagger and suspense than street brawls

You will hear one clear f-word, plus hell, damn, and the s-word when plans fray or tempers snap. Swearing is sprinkled through the banter. It is moderate rather than a constant barrage

Whiskey, vodka tonics, and beer show up in clubs and crew hangouts, and someone is called out as drunk. Smoking talk appears in passing. Drinking is social texture, not an addiction plot

Casino money and the earlier Bellagio theft remain central to the crew's plans. Gambling culture is a glamorous backdrop, while the plot celebrates clever cons

Talk after watching

  • The crew lies for a living. Where is the line between clever teamwork and hurting people?
  • How did the glamorous heist style make crime look compared with real-world consequences?
