Our take
An Indigenous warden and a poacher flee crooked cops across a frozen lake. Rated MA 15+ for strong bloody violence and language throughout. Gunfights, crash peril and constant profanity mark the chase. Best for older teens who accept action-thriller violence.
Uplifting themes
Protecting land and standing up to corruption The warden shows courage; the poacher is morally mixed Wildlife law and Indigenous roles may interest teens
Story (may spoil tone)
A young Indigenous game warden arrests an infamous poacher only to discover that the poacher knows the location of a plane carrying millions of dollars that has crashed in a frozen lake. When a group of criminals and dirty cops are alerted to the poacher’s whereabouts, the warden and the poacher team up to fight back and escape across the treacherous lake before the ice melts.
