View all categoriesOur take
Street Fighter turns its game characters into a loud, cartoonish action film. Gunfights, explosions and martial arts brawls keep coming, though there is little blood. A hostage plot and a captive turned into a monster may trouble younger kids. We would start around 13.
Uplifting themes
Teamwork and standing up to a bully run through the plot. A band of fighters sets aside their differences to rescue people who cannot protect themselves Guile and the fighters risk themselves to protect others. They swagger and bicker, but they stand together when it counts and pick the right side
Story (may spoil tone)
Colonel Guile and various other martial arts heroes fight against the tyranny of dictator M. Bison and his cohorts.

Martial-arts kicks, stunt moves, and weapon play may tempt kids to try them out on friends. The fights are not realistic but still invite imitation in the yard

Talk after watching
- The film is based on a video game. What changes when the fights happen in real life instead of on a game screen?
- Bison is an over-the-top villain. How can you tell when a villain is meant to be silly and when one is meant to be scary?
