A young lawyer takes a glamorous New York job and slowly sees the horror beneath it. The Devil's Advocate moves from office drama to demonic imagery, full nudity, sexual coercion and a character's mental collapse. Strong swearing is frequent. We would leave this until R 18+.
Uplifting themes
The story warns about vanity, ambition, and trading your values for success, which is a useful idea for older teens. It arrives inside a very dark and lurid film, so the lesson takes some digging The hero is talented and loyal at first but makes more and more self-serving choices. Few characters model healthy behaviour, and the people he admires most are the least trustworthy There is a loose peek at courtroom work, jury selection, and legal ethics, which could prompt a talk about what lawyers owe their clients. The story is far more supernatural than realistic, so it teaches little
Story (may spoil tone)

A death in the family is mourned in the second half, and a funeral scene shows the grief. The tone around it is grim and heavy, and it adds to the sense that everything is coming apart
