Parents guide · ClearAge age 15+ · Official M

Movie 2024 92 min Horror Checked by Dan S · 16 Oct 2026
Official Rating M ClearAge 15+

Why our age differs

Official is M. We say 15+ because the jump scares are constant and a character cuts her own throat, seen in silhouette. The gore is brief, so it suits older teens who already like horror

Our take

A group of friends use a tarot deck and then find themselves hunted by creatures linked to the cards. The scares come quickly, with dark rooms, jump scares and deaths that sometimes show blood. There is party drinking, some drug talk and suicide imagery. We would start at M.

Uplifting themes

The friends try to look after each other when things turn dark, and the film asks whether people can change their fate. It is a light touch in a scare-driven story The group is loyal under pressure, but they make careless choices that start the trouble. Few of them stand out as role models

Story (may spoil tone)

When a group of friends recklessly violate the sacred rule of Tarot readings, they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death.

Jump scares come often, and a menacing creature stalks dark rooms in nightmare-style scenes. The dread builds because characters are picked off one by one

Two scenes show a woman cutting her own throat, seen only in silhouette, and a past suicide sits behind the cards. No method is explained, but it is heavy for some viewers

Deaths leave blood and injuries, including a woman sawn in half and a man crushed by a ladder. A train accident has brutal sound effects, and the camera often cuts away before the worst

The story turns on ignoring the rules for using tarot cards, and the characters treat it like a game. Teens might be tempted to play with divination or occult games after watching

Friends die one after another, and the survivors deal with fear and guilt as the group shrinks. The sadness gets less time than the scares

Talk after watching

  • The friends break a rule without taking it seriously. Why do you think horror films so often start that way?
  • Which scene made you feel the most nervous, and what did the film do with sound or lighting to get that feeling?
