Two men crash weddings to meet women, and the joke wears thin as real feelings catch up with them. Wedding Crashers is full of drinking, strong swearing and sexual talk, including one ugly joke about assault. A gun appears in a hunting scene played for laughs. We would leave this adult comedy until 16.
Uplifting themes
The film eventually rewards honesty in love over endless con games. Friendship loyalty matters, even when the guys behave badly early on John grows into someone who respects consent and commitment, though Jeremy stays more reckless. Claire stands up for herself amid pushy relatives
Story (may spoil tone)
John and his buddy Jeremy are emotional criminals who know how to use a woman's hopes and dreams for their own carnal gain. Their modus operandi: crashing weddings. Normally, they meet guests who want to toast the romantic day with a random hook-up. But when John meets Claire, he discovers what true love – and heartache – feels like.
