Our take
A squad takes shelter in an outpost, where the bugs and the people around them become dangerous. Starship Troopers 2 leans into horror, with bloody attacks, bodies in close quarters and rough military language. We would keep it for 16 and up
Uplifting themes
Loyalty to squadmates appears in firefights, but the federation orders are brutal and cynical. There is little feel-good takeaway beyond survival guilt Officers threaten execution and cover up failures when bugs appear. Few characters model healthy leadership for younger viewers
Story (may spoil tone)
A group of troopers take refuge in an abandoned outpost after fighting alien bugs, failing to realize that more danger lays in wait.

- When leaders say desertion means death, who is really being protected?
- How is this sequel's tone different from a big-budget war adventure your kids might expect?
