Our take

Kate and Teddy lose faith after their firefighter dad dies, then accidentally stow away on Santa's sleigh and must help save Christmas. Action includes sleigh crashes, a car chase, and elves in peril, but outcomes stay upbeat and bloodless. Language is mild: a few hells and damns when adults bicker. Santa mentions beer and tequila in jokes, and a line tags a crook just out of prison. We land at 8 and up because the grief thread and loud action may still be a lot for the smallest viewers, even though the tone is festive

Uplifting themes

Belief, teamwork, and forgiving each other matter as much as the magic. Santa pushes the kids to trust their own guts, not just gifts Kate and Teddy learn to listen to each other; their mum keeps the family grounded. Santa is flawed but generous, and elves model loyalty

Story (may spoil tone)

Siblings Kate and Teddy try to prove Santa Claus is real, but when they accidentally cause his sleigh to crash, they have to save Christmas.

Talk after watching

  • Kate and Teddy argue about whether Santa is real after their dad's death. How do holidays feel different when someone in the family is missing?
  • Santa tells the kids they have to believe in themselves, not just magic. What skills did each sibling bring to fixing the mess?
