Our take

An infected father is trying to get his baby somewhere safe before he changes. The outback setting gives the film room to breathe, but the bites, bodies and constant danger to the child make it bleak. We would keep it at MA 15+.

Uplifting themes

A parent's love and the search for a safe home for a baby drive the story. Compassion from unexpected people still appears in a collapsed world The father keeps putting his child's future ahead of his own fear. Allies who help without exploiting the chaos stand out against cruel opportunists

Story (may spoil tone)

After being infected in the wake of a violent pandemic and with only 48 hours to live, a father struggles to find a new home for his baby daughter.

Infection dread, remote bush isolation, and the ticking 48-hour clock keep the mood heavy. Knowing a parent may turn makes ordinary quiet moments feel unsafe

Desperate talk turns to ending lives so the infected cannot cause worse harm. The idea sits in the story as a grim choice, without instructional detail

A baby is carried through zombie country for the whole film. Hunger, infection, and unsafe adults all put that infant in sustained danger on screen

Bite wounds ooze, carcasses are torn apart, and entrails are used as bait in cages. The grisly images are clear even when the pace stays sober

Family loss and the fear of losing a child sit under every mile of the journey. Grief is quiet, heavy, and rarely given neat comfort

Talk after watching

  • A parent has only hours left and must decide who will raise his child. What would you want someone to know about your values if time ran out?
  • Some strangers help and some exploit the collapse. How do you tell who to trust when systems have failed?
