View all categoriesOur take
Warm Bodies is a teen-friendly zombie romance with wry voiceover and apocalypse jokes. The mood mixes sweetness with undead gloom. Zombies attack, brains get eaten in comic-horror beats, and survivors shoot corpses in the head. The s-word, hell, and at least one f-word show up in dialogue. We land at 13 and up because the creature violence and body horror sit above a light date movie, even when the love story softens the edges
Uplifting themes
Connection and empathy can thaw even a literal dead heart when someone chooses kindness. Picking people over fear is the soft centre of the zombie chaos The living girl shows courage and curiosity toward someone others only see as a monster. Allies slowly learn to look again instead of shooting first
Story (may spoil tone)
After a zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims, their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.

Shuffling corpses, boneys, and abandoned city spaces keep a chill under the jokes. Younger kids may still find the undead faces unsettling

Expect strong language in comic-horror frames, and guns are used to stop the dead, including Brain-eating and corpse bodies. Gore is stylised but unmistakable
