Our take
An MA 15+ crime drama with Robert De Niro as rival mob bosses Frank Costello and Vito Genovese. Frequent f-words, shootings with bloody detail, an acid attack, strangulation and photos of crime-scene corpses. Social drinking and smoking run throughout. Best for 16 and up.
Uplifting themes
There is a historical cautionary tone, but the crime lifestyle dominates
Story (may spoil tone)
Two of New York's most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, vie for control of the city's streets. Once the best of friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals place them on a deadly collision course that will reshape the Mafia (and America) forever.
