Our take

A Sharknado-style horror comedy about mutated sharks invading a Cape Cod water park, rated US PG-13 for violent content, bloody images, language, suggestive material and drug references. Shark attacks, jump scares and stylized blood run throughout, though the tone stays exaggerated rather than realistic. Best for teens who like B-movie creature chaos.

Uplifting themes

Story (may spoil tone)

Sharks breach a seaside water park during the debut of a new ride, forcing a lifeguard and the town’s police chief to contain the chaos and protect guests from becoming prey.

Talk after watching

  • Campy disaster movies often wink at the audience. How can you tell when danger is played for laughs?
  • Water parks look fun on screen but real water safety rules exist for a reason.
