Our take

An MA 15+ horror comedy about co-workers hunted by a Valentine-themed serial killer. On-screen stabbings, jump scares, very frequent f-word dialogue, crude sex jokes and slasher violence played for laughs. It satirises rom-com tropes while showing real blood. For mature horror fans, not younger teens.

Uplifting themes

Trust and teamwork emerge late, though slasher tropes still dominate The leads grow braver together, but most behaviour is reactive and messy

Story (may spoil tone)

When the "Heart Eyes Killer" strikes Seattle, a pair of co-workers pulling overtime on Valentine's Day are mistaken for a couple by the elusive couple-hunting killer. Now, they must spend the most romantic night of the year running for their lives.

Talk after watching

  • The film mocks couple culture while still showing real danger. How do horror comedies blur laughs and fear?
  • Stalking is played for suspense here. Why is real stalking never romantic or funny?
